Golf Room is a whole-in-one!

Editor’s Note: This is the eighth article in a series featuring information about each room at the Creekside Community Center and Creekside Aquatics.

The Harrison Battery & Tire Golf Room has two sides. One side is a practice driving range where the golfer drives the ball into a net. The other side is a golf course simulator. Players can choose a course and have time to play nine holes at one downloaded course. Tiger Wood’s Payne’s Valley and Top of the Rock are just two courses available. 

The simulator also shows the golfer how far they hit the ball and its flight. The area is netted so friends can sit and relax while the golfer plays.

Parks and Rec Director Chuck Eddington said, “This golf room was a dream of Mayor Jackson’s. He loves the game of golf and understands everyone doesn’t have the opportunity to learn at private country clubs. We have several golf teams in the area schools. This room will be a lot of fun for all ages of people who love golf, or want to see what it’s all about.”

When asked why his company wanted to participate at Creekside, Steve Turney, Manager of Harrison Battery & Tire, said, “We do it all for the kids.”
