City Council hears update on sales tax, grant proposal

This is the third article about the City Council meeting held on Oct. 24.

The Harrison City Council met on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

CFO Luke Feighert reported that the latest sales tax information is good and still above last year’s record-setting numbers.

Parks and Rec Director Chuck Eddington said, “Creekside is open and a blessing.” He reported a healthy number of memberships, which continue to grow daily. He was headed to Little Rock to participate in a matching grant program.

“This is a $392,000 project with $196,000 of that is in-kind services, which will save the city money,” Eddington said. “The proposed project is for an all-inclusive playground at the Sports Complex.”
